Caribou helps financial advisors plan for and navigate healthcare to expand their offerings and build stickier client relationships. We are currently in market working with customers and generating revenue

About You

We’re looking for an experienced engineer to join our early team that fits the following profile:

• You’re passionate about delivering amazing products to end users and you obsess about the little things (including performance!)
• You love your craft and take great pride in your work
• You appreciate functional programming and TypeScript (although you don’t necessarily need to know them well - growth and on-the-job learning is something we value and encourage).

There are basically two kinds of developer personas that fit what we're looking for right now:

Full Stack Developer: Front End Ninja: You love front end development, and React + GraphQL are tools you know like the back of your hand - this includes leveraging debug tools to ensure your apps run smoothly (low latency, high framerate, etc). You're also comfortable working on the back end, but it's not necessarily your strength.

Full Stack Developer: Back End Wizard: You've built high-scale APIs and systems in the past. You can wrangle complex SQL queries in your sleep and you know how to ensure high availability in your systems. You've dabbled with functional programming in the past, or you're looking for a place that is using functional design patterns in production. Lastly, you don't mind having to work on the front end if that's what is needed of you.

About The Role

Caribou sits at the intersection of healthcare and fintech. As such there are tools we build for both markets.

Right now we have an internal tool to help our team of Healthcare Advisors excel at helping clients navigate the healthcare system. This tool might be in its infancy, but it is already in market and receving great feedback from users.

In addition, we are building tools for financial advisors that enables them to incoporate healthcare into their overall financial planning process, completely changing the way that Americans plan for future healthcare costs.

As the next engineer at Caribou, you'll work alongside Giorgio (founding engineer at Setter - acq. by ThumbTack, GitHub, LinkedIn) to continue developing these two products and help deliver on the promise of a new age of healthcare finance.
